BBQ Split Pea Soup

4 cups of PNW Co-op Specialty Foods Green Split Peas

2 quarts of water

1 large onion

1 pound of carrots

1 & 1/2 Tablespoons olive oil

1 - 1 & 1/4 cups of BBQ sauce (The SPICIER, the BETTER), to taste


Sweat onions and carrots in oil for 10 minutes

Add water and split peas, bring to a boil

Cover and simmer 40-45 minutes

Add BBQ sauce, mix and cool
